Refund policy
What you are paying for
You pay for the search and the dated report it produces, not for a particular answer. A report that finds no conservation area, Article 4 direction, listed building or protected tree zone is a completed report, not a failed one. It is useful evidence that you checked, on that date, using the national data.
The national datasets are incomplete. Some councils have not published all their records, so a blank result is a good sign, not a guarantee. We say this on the check page, before payment and in the report itself.
When we refund you in full
- Your report cannot be produced, for example the location cannot be read or the national data services stay down. Email us and we refund you.
- The report covers a different location from the one you checked, through an error on our side.
- The report will not open, or is incomplete.
- The report misses or misreports a record that is in the source data at the time of your report.
- You were charged more than once for the same report.
When we do not refund
- The report found no records at the location.
- A designation exists but has not been published to the national data. We disclose this limit before you buy.
- You changed your mind after the report was delivered, or found the same information elsewhere.
How to ask
Email support@conservationcheck.co.uk with your report reference. It is on the cover of the report, and your payment receipt has the payment ID. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method through Dodo Payments and usually arrive within 5 to 10 working days. A refunded report link stops working.
Your statutory rights
Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Because the report is digital content delivered immediately, you agree to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose the 14 day cancellation right once delivery begins. You give this agreement with a tick box before payment. It does not affect your right to a remedy if the report is faulty, not as described or not delivered.
